out with the old & in with the pink!

After last week’s pillow, I took a good look at all the other pillows I have lying around on my couch, and decided that they were just ugly. They came with the couch, which I bought 4 years ago, second hand, so the pillows could definitely use a make-over right? :)

Inspired by Crochet with Raymond’s lovely colored granny square pillows, I knew it was time to crochet my very first granny square project EVER.

So last Thursday I started to create a pile of 25 granny squares. And I must say, it went a lot faster then I thought it would! Soon, the pile of grannies on my desk was growing, and my oh my, what a sight! :D

I joined the squares using Lucy’s joining method. After the front of the pillow was finished, I kind of wanted to sew it on some fabric and leave it at that. But I knew that I would regret it later, so I decided to create a giant granny square for the back! And I’m so glad I did, because the result is just stunning :)

So there you have it: my very first granny square, double-sided, super warm and snuggly, perfect pillow! And may I just say: tadah! :D

  2. Oooo, just lovely (drooling a bit here!). Lovely colour combinations and you were right to do the back, finishes it beautifully. Also loving the little edging you have crocheted. Wish I could find the time to finish mine, still summer hols aren’t far away in the UK.
