Hello sweet sweet followers! :)
So these last few weeks have really flown by, seeing as my last blogpost was almost three weeks ago… Please accept my humble apologies.
I have been super busy preparing for the craft fair (which is in a week from now! eek!); I will show you some of the things that I’m working on. I really cannot wait to hear what you think!
But first, some pictures from our trip to the zoo. D and I went to the Rotterdam Zoo a couple of weekends ago, because 1. We really wanted to go to that zoo; 2. We had never been to that zoo, and 3. We have been wanting to go to a zoo since our holiday! Three very good reasons to get out of bed really early and take the train down to Rotterdam! It’s about a two-hour travel for us (by train) which is totally doable, and the zoo is nearby the railway station so you can walk there! The weather had been really nasty all week long, but on that Saturday, the sun came out and it was a beautiful day. Lucky for us, most people had already gone to the zoo during the holidays, so it wasn’t crowded at all (which is good, because we hate crowds). The Rotterdam zoo is really big, like, REALLY big. You need at least a full day to get to see everything, and even then you really have to keep up a pace! Unlike us, who stopped for every animal we could find to extensively take pictures of it ;) So naturally, by the time we came to the Ocean part of the zoo (my favorite part, I love water and underwater life) my batteries had died, and my CF card was almost full! :( The dead battery problem was quickly resolved by a trip to the gift store, but I didn’t bring any extra memory cards with me, so I had to sit down and delete a lot of pictures… But still; between the two of us we took almost a 1000 photos! And these are my absolute favorites: (don’t worry, I won’t show you all 1000)
We had so much fun with all these animals! I especially like the goat. I LOVE goats, and this one allowed me to pet him and even smiled for the camera! I now have this picture as my desktop background :)
Ah, just talking about our trip to the zoo gets me all excited again. We’re definitely going there again; this zoo is amazing and they have SO many animals! (a couple of years ago one of the gorillas even managed to escape – remember Bokito?)
With D back to work I have had lots of time to work on my ‘collection’ for the fair. Ofcourse, silly me, I didn’t plan ahead, so I spent too much time thinking up new patterns and trying them out, instead of just focussing on what I already had and producing lots of that! So by now, with the fair a little more than a week away, I can honestly say that I’m a little stressed ;) This is very typical though: when I was still in college I had a habit of raising the bar way too high for myself, and I still fall into that trap nowadays… But look at all that I’ve accomplished so far! These are a few pictures of what I’ve been working on so far:
I’m really happy with the way everything looks! I also got a stamp today (one of those really simple ones where you have to use tweezers to place the letters) and I think the stamp looks awesome on the packaging :) Also, I sent some “business” cards to the printers; they should be ready in time for the fair, so I can hand them out :)
When the fair is over, I will shift my focus to opening my Etsy shop. Me and a couple of friends and family of mine will dive into a studio and take shots of all my work, and some of the pieces will be worn by actual people! ;) Oh I cannot wait to share all of that with you! And ofcourse, once my shop opens, blog readers will get a 5% discount on everything in my shop! But that’s not all; I will be having a Celebratory Giveaway too! Expect lots of cool items there, even some discount coupons to other Etsy shops… So stay tuned! In the meanwhile, are you a follower of this blog yet? :) You can connect at the bottom of the page.
I have so much more I want to share with you lovely ladies but I must get back to crocheting; wish me luck next week! :)
