Hello my dear blog readers!
So sorry for my absence lately. It has been too busy for me to blog! But I’m sure you understand. Crafty people have a tough time around the holidays ;)
To top it all off, I have been ill for a few days now. I really *really* hope I’m fit in time for Christmas…
Last week was so hectic for me that I even didn’t have time to blog about the wonderful fact that beberouge gave me my third blog award! You can read about it here: http://beberouge.wordpress.com/2011/12/14/christmas-is-about-the-giving/
If you don’t know her blog yet, be sure to head on over. It’s filled to the brim with good things :)
Now I have to pass on the award to other beloved blogs. I always find this so hard to do, as I can’t choose between all the great blogs out there!
I give the award to these 5 blogs, in random order:
- Rainbow Bunting by Saritha
- Haakmuts (Dutch blog) by Claire
- Sarah’s CreaCorner (Dutch blog) by Sarah
- Liefgeval by Nikki
- Greedy For Colour by Kate
Can you believe that getting the blogaward wasn’t all that I got in December? I also won a giveaway over at Made In K-Town and the goodies came in somewhere last week. This is what I got:
I know right?! I also couldn’t believe my eyes when I opened up the envelope. So what we have here is a bookmark (in colors I chose), 5 awesome big buttons with cool prints on them, a Christmas card with a lovely written message from Barbara, two glass heart-shaped hangers, 5 heart-shaped wooden buttons, 5 glass beads, a crochet stone (my first!) and last but not least, a bracelet that she took with her from her trip to Egypt. Can you say spoiled?? Thank you so much Barbara, this was such a cool giveaway to win! I really love the crochet stone, I never had one before and this is definitely a good one to start off the collection :)
I did a little Christmas decorating around the house. We live in a 3-bedroom apartment which fits us like a glove, but I just didn’t want a big ‘ol Christmas tree in our living room! So we setled on this one from IKEA. Originally I wanted to crochet all the ornaments for it, but I just didn’t have the time to do that, unfortunately. So I just went out and got myself some colorful ornaments :)
I found some star-shaped lights that I think fit this tree perfectly! I’m really happy with it, and I think I’ll be setting it up again next year.
I also put up some lettering, following an idea I found on Pinterest. I simply cut out the words I wanted, traced them on silver paper, applied glue with a paint brush and added glitter to the letters. About an hour of effort, and a few weeks of fun! :)
I wish you all a very happy, merry, creative and loving Christmas!
