Hello! :)
Tomorrow it has been exactly 90 years ago since the tomb of Tutankhamun was opened. Howard Carter and his crew excavated the site of KV62 and found the tomb underneath some old huts that had been put up a couple of seasons before. Even though the announcement of the discovery of the tomb was made on November 29, the actual examination of King Tut’s remains didn’t start till a year later, on November 11, 1923.
I have always found Egyptian history fascinating (I even have a tattoo of the Eye of Horus between my shoulders), so it seemed only logical to dedicate this week’s mandala to King Tut himself.
The mandala, made with a 4mm hook and Drops Paris cotton yarn, combined with golden sparkle thread from DMC:
A closeup so you can see the sparkly thread:
Even though the colors aren’t in my usual palette of pinks and pastels, I like this one. It’s a truly royal mandala :)
Did you see my giveaway? There’s still time to enter! :)

I love this one too. I wonder what you are doing with all your mandalas?

Thanks Monika! You know I haven’t really figured out what to do with them yet, but they’re definitely going to have a purpose! :)
