just another friday

Seriously, have you ever seen such a scrumptious looking pile of cotton? It came to my doorstep yesterday, courtesy of a magazine that I’m designing patterns for… Well, don’t mind if I do!

I have never used Rowan Handknit Cotton before, and I just cannot wait to jump into this pile! (well, figuratively speaking. Although I wouldn’t mind actually jumping into a pile of yarn. Raise of hands; who gets the same compulsion?)
It has the most gorgeous shades in it too; together they create a very cool yet sultry palette of colours that definitely tickle my creativity. I know what I’ll be doing today :)

That is, if my left shoulder decides to play nice. I don’t know what happened; maybe I slept on it or something, but my shoulder has been killing me since yesterday. I can’t even lift a water bottle to my lips with it. I’m hoping it’s ‘just’ an inflammation of some muscles and tendons, and that a little rest will take care of it. I can still crochet, which is good, but I also don’t want to aggravate it any more, so easy does it! Have any of you had any experience with these kinds of injuries? What is the best way to go about this? Of course, if my arm still feels crappy on Monday I’m definitely seeing my doctor.

Oh and I want to give a big THANK YOU to all of you lovely people who have purchased my first pattern. I was so thrilled to see all those confirmations just filling up my inbox the past few days, I seriously couldn’t believe my eyes! I have even seen some finished mandalas too, and that was just the cherry on the icing for me. I will continue to release patterns this year; both on my blog, for free and paid, and some for a particular crochet magazine… ;)

xo,
wink

Instead I just fondle it inappropriately.

  7. Love those colors and can’t wait to see what you come up with! I hope your shoulder feels better! Have you tried icing it a little to help with the pain? 15 mins on, 15 mins off. And congrats with the success of your lovely pattern!!

  8. Arnica gel works wonders for sore joints and muscles, bruises or anything that is inflamed. It’s a life saver for my knee.

  9. I have inflamed flare ups in my shoulders every time I eat too much sugar, gluten, or even excessive dairy, so I scale back my diet to protiens and veggies, drink tons of water, and take an anti-inflammatory if necessary (natural in source if I can find one, but I settle for over the counter drugs if I have to).

    • I had no idea sugar and dairy could cause this… I’ll try to cut down on those for a while, thanks for the tip! :)
