made: granny square cushion cover

I made another tutorial for Tuts+ that I’d like to share with you all: a granny square cushion cover!

I had so much fun making this. Can you believe that before I did this tutorial, I didn’t even have a proper granny square cushion on my sofa? I know, it’s an outrage!

For the squares I used Drops Paris cotton yarn with a 4mm hook, and on the inside is a 50x50cm IKEA insert.

You can find the tutorial on Tuts+ here. I explain in detail how to make a granny square; how to sew them together; and how to sew both sides together into a cushion cover. It’s the perfect project for beginners!
