I started a pattern this week and I just CANNOT put it down! It is so much fun to make, and just the thought of the finished item makes me all giddy.
But first things first. The yarn! :) I got some hand dyed peacock inspired 100% single-ply merino yarn a while ago, from Raindrop Yarns on Facebook.
Much yumminess in those cakes don’t you think?
My friend Charissa from Mad Mad Me recently won ‘Best Overall Design’ in the latest Design Wars challenge with her gorgeous When Alice Fell shawl pattern. As soon as I saw the sneak peeks online, I knew I had to make it; and mine was going to become a peacock :)
This pattern is so groovy because it consists of a bunch of spiral circles. They’re really easy to make and the pattern is quick to memorise, so I had a big stack of these babies in no time! I think mine are a bit smaller than the original ones from the pattern, so I’m going to use up all this yarn and then I’ll see what interesting shapes I can make with the spirals.
But this yarn though… Oh my, it’s just so gorgeous! The colours are SO rich and are unlike anything I have ever seen before.
Are you drooling? I know I am! I’m working it up with a 5mm hook, and using a stitch marker is highly recommended. It turns making these spirals from a counting menace into a very relaxing project :)
I haven’t decided on what yarn to use to join all the spirals; any suggestions? I definitely want to use several colours, to really make this project burst with colour!
Are you going to make one? :)
