Hi everyone! :)
This may be a bit last minute, but if you’re pressed for a great (Christmas) gift for the crafty people in your life, I’ve got a great recommendation: the Scheepjes yarn kit for KiKa! :)
I got the Autumn Walk colour way for this kit. Let’s see what’s on the inside…
This kit comes in 15 yummy colour variations, and contains 5 balls of yarn: 2 of Invicta Colour and 3 of Invicta Extra. The kit also comes with 2 patterns for an amazing shawl; there is a knit version and a crochet version! And for the finishing touch, there’s a pompom template in there as well, to allow you to make the mother of all pompoms for your new triangle shawl! ;)
But the really cool thing about this kit is the charity it supports: KiKa, a foundation that funds research to fight cancer in children. A percentage of each sale goes directly to this wonderful cause!
I’m really, REALLY happy with the colour way I chose, but be sure to check out the Scheepjes site for all the other amazing combinations they have! I’m not going to spoil anything here, but there are a couple of WONDERFUL colour combo’s, with names like Enchanted Forest and Purple Rain – seriously, check it out ;)
You can get the kits in The Netherlands from all well-known Scheepjes stockists, or for international readers via Deramores.com right here!
And now comes the choice; do I knit this, or do I crochet this? My knitting speed has improved significantly since I first started a few years ago, but since this shawl is worked from the bottom up, the rows are going to keep getting longer, and longer, and longer… (and remember this shawl I made? Took me 2 years to complete! :P) Maybe I should just stick to what I know best.
Merry Christmas everyone; I wish you wonderful days spent with your loved ones!

Als ik zelf zou mogen kiezen, zou ik de gehaakte versie maken, ik vind de steken mooier uitzien! Fijne feestdagen en vooral HaakZe ;-)

I bought the Chocolate one from Deramores – I love brown and blue together :) I wish Deramores carried more of the Scheepjeswol range *wistful sigh* My bank manager is probably relieved that they dont ;)

I’m new here and in love with the colours in the kits…can these be ordered online or are they sold in the states? I’m from N.C. and when I put in the zip code, nothing came up for the states. Can someone help me please?…Thank you!

Hi I just clicked thru to Deramores but they only show one colour way – Autumn Leaves – is it possible to choose other colours?

Thank you for your yarn kit suggestion – I’ve treated myself to ‘Dark skies’ one. i’m really excited by it but am feeling abit daunted by the crochet pattern. Will you be posting any photo’s so that I can get a closer look at what it should look like? Help please! thanks again

Hi Wink,
I have my lovely kit in Fun Fair and I can’t wait to start but can you tell me if the pattern uses US or UK terms for the stitches?? Many thanks, Karen x
PS. I’ve just discovered your blog and I love it, hence I have also ordered the wool packs to Make your 2014 CAL! I’ve ordered two packs of the Succulent colours so I can make it nice and big and play around with the colours…..thanks for your great Blog and keep up the fantastic work :-) x
